Biography

Dr. Ramesh Chand Chauhan is an Epidemiologist and Assistant Professor of Community Medicine at the Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences, Puducherry. Dr. Chauhan graduated from the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi and earned his doctoral degree from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. His research interests include global NCD epidemiology and CVD risk reduction through holistic interventions and primary prevention approaches. Currently, he is actively supporting the DISHA project (a large community based randomised controlled trial) in Puducherry and a multicentre Tribal TB study among the aboriginal populations of Maharashtra state of India. During his time as a PH-LEADER participant, he hopes to learn about public health leadership and develop networking for collaborative research in the area of NCD prevention.
