Biography

Dr. Jamario Skeete completed his medical training at The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, Barbados, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 2012. Through his involvement with the US-CDC’s Global Standardized Hypertension Treatment Project, Jamario has played a pivotal role in the implementation of an improved hypertension management model at primary care clinics in Barbados. Jamario’s research interests include medical education, cardiovascular disease risk stratification and mitigation and the standardized management of non-communicable chronic diseases. During his time as a PH-LEADER, he hopes to hone the skills necessary to effectively implement national and regional preventative cardiovascular programs.
