Biography

Dr. Ajay Vamadevan is a trained cardiovascular disease epidemiologist and served as Center Coordinator for the NHLBI funded Center of Excellence in Cardio-metabolic Risk Reduction in South Asia (CoE-CARRS), New Delhi. Dr. Ajay completed his Masters in Public Health (MPH) at the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute, Trivandrum and his doctorate from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. UK. He has over 12 years of research experience in chronic disease epidemiology and implementation research. His research work in the past six years has been into developing low cost solutions to improve access and quality of hypertension and diabetes care using mHealth technologies and electronic decision support tools. He is currently involved in the Wellcome Trust funded mWellcare Trial, ICMR – MRC funded YogaCare Trial, mPower Heart Project and the Solan Surveillance Study. He is also an Emerging Leader Fellow of the World Heart Federation.
