Biography

K. Anusuya Devi, MSc, MPhil, PhD, MCA, RD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics at the PSG College of Arts and Science in Coimbatore, India. Dr. Devi received her BSc, Msc, and MCA from Bharathiyar University in Coimbatore.  She received her MPhil and PhD from Avinashilingam University in Coimbatore. Her research principles and inquisitiveness in preventive medicine paved way to study the prevalence of metabolic syndrome among college students, as India is becoming a hub for diabetes and CVD. This project bagged her first prize in the state and received funding from the state government. Presently Dr. Devi has six doctorate students who are working on metabolic syndrome- prevalence, causative factors, and role of diet, prevention and intervention. For the research on reversing metabolic syndrome they designed a mobile application named “Bite right” which stresses the importance of home foods to outside foods and the app helps to calculate the daily calorie consumed. Dr. Devi wants to give back to her society.
